Consolidated Biofuels Announces Appointment of Industra's CEO to Its Board of Directors...
"Our corporate focus is to position ourselves as an alternative fuels resource primarily related to, and supplying, the commercial transport industry, including rail and waterways. It will be many years before any alternatively efficient, and environmentally acceptable, fuel/engine technology, other than biodiesel, is developed that will move 80,000 lbs of goods at high speeds over any sustained distances. Moreover, the transportation infrastructure would have to be totally reconfigured to accept any now non-existent technologies to facilitate the coast-to-coast movement of goods. I believe that aligning our business strategies, research, consulting and solutions with the needs of the transportation industry offers Consolidated a long-term and enduring marketplace for the development of strategic partnerships, relationships, and sustained profitable growth in the global commercial transportation industry."
President and CEO
Consolidated Biofuels, Inc.
Energy Independence. Consolidated is committed to a national energy independence strategy, of which alternative fuels is a significant component. With over seventy percent of the nation's goods transported by commercial diesel-powered vehicles, Consolidated's contributions to the success of biofuels to power these vehicles offers a strategic component in the overall solution to ensure our nation's energy independence.
Currently the United States consumes approximately 20 million barrels of oil per day, more than half of which is currently imported. The U.S. Department of Energy projects that, based on current projections, by 2025, the U.S. will import nearly 70% of all petroleum it consumes, absent any alternative energy modifiers. For the long-term, Consolidated is committed to being part of the solution to energy independence.
Green Technology. Consolidated is committed to green technology, both within our biofuel production processes, and the resultant end-product, cost-competitive, environmentally-friendly biodiesel fuel.
The advanced technology platform selected for Consolidated's production process is a waterless technology and, therefore, does not produce contaminated production waste water, as does conventional biodiesel production processes currently being utilized within the industry. Further, this process technology utilizes less energy during the production process.
The end product, ASTM-quality biodiesel, is 100% biodegradeable and non-toxic to the environment. Exhaust emissions resulting from the combustion engine, such as carbon monoxide, particulate matter, and hydrocarbons are greatly reduced when biodiesel fuel is introduced into the diesel fuel mix. In light of the fact that commercial heavy road vehicles (trucks) use 97% of on-the-road use diesel fuel, the use of biodiesel, as an environmentally-friendly alternative fuel, will have a significant positive impact on air quality over the long-term.
Advanced Technology Platform. For its purposes, Consolidated has selected a next-generation biodiesel processor technology that is protected by eight issued and four pending patents. This next generation technology of processors represent a near-waterless, continuous flow process, requiring less capital, a smaller footprint, less time to completion, and significantly reduced production processing time.
