SDLT Tape SDX2-50C the one you can rely upon
Digital Devices offers low price on Sony’s SDX2-50C also known as Advanced Intelligent Tape 2 (AIT-2) format tape cartridge. The length of the tape itself is 230 meters which enables a native data storage capacity of 50GB that can be expanded up to 130GB when compressed. It features the use of AME (Advance Metal Evaporated) technology and Sony’s Diamond Like Carbon technology with built in MIC (Memory in Cassette) technology which together speed up access and enable the media to store data safely for over 30 years. With Helical Scan technology the tape cartridge can sustain a 6MB/s data transfer rate. The Sony SDX2-50C comes sealed in a transparent plastic casing which helps prevent dust and static accumulation.
Sony has intelligently designed this high capacity external tape drive for faster transfer rates, enhanced working life and low cost per GB. Today’s backup storage environments require high density storage medium that ensure data integrity and faster transfer speed. Sony AITe260/S SCSI drive is the most reliable choice for such demanding environments. Native speed of Sony AIT 3 tape has been increased to 12 MB per second.Sony AIT3 tape drives have the capability to accurately read & write data on AIT-1 (35GB and 25GB) and AIT-2 (50GB and 36GB) media tape cartridges. Sony AITe260/S drive ensures data integrity under harsh conditions. Sony manufactures 2 types of AIT-3 tapes. One supports the WORM functionality while the other does not feature the WORM technology. The WORM enabled Sony AIT3 cartridge is SDX3-100W and the non-WORM tape cartridge is SDX3-100C. Sony AITe260/S tape drive allows its users to backup their precious data on AIT-3 tapes and also archive the information from previous two AIT generations.
Sony SDX1-CL cleaning cartridge is best suited not only for AIT-3 drives, but it is also compatible with AIT-2 and AIT-1 tape drives. Tape head of AITe260/S tape drive has been reengineered by Sony to improve the efficiency of data reading/writing, and reduce the pressure on tape reel. The average useful life of Sony AIT3 drive is 50,000 hours. Sony AITe260/S drive features self head cleaning system. Therefore precious time and energy are saved as you will not need periodic cleaning of the drive. 64kb Memory chip is an essential part of every AIT tape cartridge, which serves as a core technology for improving the file access and searching time. MIC ensures faster media access time of 27 seconds. Capacity of Sony AIT-3 reaches maximum of 260 GB. Drum rotational speed of this high capacity drive is 6,000 RPM.
